Knaack recently introduced Knaack Tool Kage Jobsite Cabinet Solutions, a new line of jobsite storage solutions that provideย both visibility and security with see-through, locking cabinets.ย The Tool Kageย line includes three products: the 139-MT, 129-MT, and 100-MT, each outfitted with the patented Knaackย Watchmanย IV security lock, an electrical power pass, electrical pass-through in each shelf, diamond-punched 16-gauge steel panels, a fully arc-welded steel body, and powder coating. ย Optional 6-inch wheel casters and door shelves are available.
โMaximum security against theft and efficiency on the jobsite are both critical. Our new line of innovative Tool Kage storage cabinets allow workers to quickly locate and grab the tools and supplies they need without searching the entire storage unit.โ

Our Take
We donโt know one tradesman who hasnโt had tools stolen or, euphemistically, just walk off. Itโs a shame, but often locking them in a trailer isnโt enough to protect them. And once theyโre gone, so is the tradesmanโs livelihood, at least temporarily. But for large, multi-day jobs, unpacking and repacking everything into the truck isnโt practical or even possible, so jobsite storage solution provider Knaack has introduced the three-product line ofย Knaack Tool Kage Jobsite Cabinet Solutions. As you can see the โKageโ moniker is appropriate, as the 16-gauge diamond-punched walls create a very cage-like cabinet with the benefit of visibility.
The cabinets differ in capacity, power cord access, and access design, with the 100-MT opening like a book while the 129-MT and 139-MT are cupboard-style. We think theyโll keep your tools safe from theft but itโsย clear that these are for indoor use โ the visibility they provide also leaves tools exposed to the elements. The ability to charge batteries while the cabinets areย locked is excellent, and thereโs no doubt the big, optional casters make mobility on concrete simple. Of course, highly-motivated thieves might find it easier to wheel off your entire Kage with them. So if itโs a major concern, perhaps the most secure way is to bolt it to the floor through the steel feet.
We love storage and security, so combining them is a close second behind the tools themselves. If you really think about it, itโs too bad these security measures are necessary, but since they are,ย it looks like Knaack has done a fine job designing them. Hereโs to organizationย when youโre on the jobsite โ and to a good nightโs sleep when youโre not!
