There are a lot of reasons why a cordless fan might be a good idea. Even though itโ€™s winter, weโ€™re doing some renovation work here in Central Florida where we donโ€™t yet have our temporary power in place. On a job site in a region where winter never seems to fully take hold, Makitaโ€™s new 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Fan (BCF201Z) sounds like a pretty great idea. The BCF201Z fan is being positioned as a solution product for for painters and other contractors who want a portable air flow device to help cool them off, or aid in venting a room or drying out material.

The new BCF201Z has two settings (1700 RPM high, 1200 low) with up to 3 hours of continuous run time in low speed. The fan comes as a bare tool only, but when it can be powered by Makita 14.4V โ€“ 18V Lithium-Ion batteries, or even an included AC adapter. There is a handy 3-stage automatic timer that will power off the fan automatically after 1, 2 or 4-hours. This is perfect for when the fan can be plugged in and you want to leave the job site without having the fan run all night long.
