Milwaukee Measuring Wheel

Milwaukee recently expanded their layout and measurement offering with the introduction of the Milwaukee Measuring Wheel. Available in 12- and 6-inch diameters, both wheels are constructed of reinforced aluminum frames and locking pivot points for folding and storage.ย Both feature pistol grip handles that mimic a power tool handle and are designed to be at a more ergonomic angle. These handles feature a top brake function that can be used to lock the wheel and the reading so you donโ€™t lose your measurement.

The 12-inch wheelโ€™s top handle clearing function allows the user to reset for each measurement without bending over. ย This larger wheel also features a kickstand, a debris-cleaning wheel flap toย clear away contamination while rolling, and a carrying handle.

The 6-inch measuring wheel can be easily folded down to 18 inches for transport.

The Bottom Line

Trundle wheels tend to be fairly cheaply built and many of us add another to the recycling pile every couple of weeks or so when a crew member breaks one. We almost start to think of them as consumables. The Milwaukee Measuring Wheel is tough enough to stand up to the conditions and abuse that other wheels crumble under.

When we first saw the new Milwaukee Measuring Wheel at Milwaukeeโ€™s New Product Symposium this past summer, it looked pretty tough. Then someone grabbed hold of the 12-inch modelโ€™s handle and kicked into it at an angle with enough force to break a personโ€™s ankle. There was no damage and the wheel kept spinning true. Thatโ€™s the kind of tough that gives Milwaukee their Nothing But Heavy Duty reputation.

Several user-friendly features on these measuring wheels should make it as easy and comfortable to use as it is tough.
