Bosch is taking us further away from our dependence on tape measures, pencils, and paper with the introduction of the new GLM 100 C Laser Measure with Bluetooth Wireless Technology. The laser is capable of measurements up to 330 feet with an accuracy of 1/16 of an inch and can store up to 50 measurements.  It also features a backlit display with Tilt-Screen Technology so that it can be viewed from any angle.  Ten measurement modes in the device include length, area, volume, angle, min/max, continuous, single indirect height, single indirect length, combined indirect height, and multi-surface. Saving us money on batteries, Bosch designed the GLM 100 C with a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery boasting 25,000 measurements on a single charge.

Build Quality and Features

What is really exciting about Bosch’s newest laser is the Bluetooth Wireless connectivity and the Bosch Mobile Measurement App.

The device sends a wireless signal to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. Measurements can be further transferred to a PC using the included USB cable, which is also used for charging the GLM 100 C. With the free app, users can sketch or overlay measurements on job site photos, as well as perform calculations. For harder-to-reach measurements, or just because it is really fun, the app also allows the user to operate the laser remotely.

Included in the box are the GLM 100 C Laser Measure with Bluetooth Wireless Technology, USB data transfer and charging cable, hand strap, and belt pouch. The laser hit stores last month and has a street price of around $300. Bosch offers a 30-day refund or replacement guarantee along with a limited 1-year warranty that can be extended to years by registering the tool within 8 weeks of purchase.
