Among the mid-year products coming from Tualatin, Oregon is the CRKT Graphite. It is a folding knife designed by Glenn Klecker that looks really sharp (insert groan for the pitiful attempt at knife humor). All joking aside, since thatโs not the point of the articleโฆ (insert another groan) The Graphiteโs attractiveness lies in its contrast between several color levels between the polished satin blade and frame, the graphite accents, and black G10 0verlay.
CRKT Graphite Features
Closed, the CRKT Graphite is just under 4-1/2 inches long. Open, it reaches out to 7-1/2 inches. It weighs in at 4.4 ounces, which should give it a solid feel in your hand.
The Graphiteโs blade is made from 8Cr13MoV steel and rates 58 โ 60 on the HRT hardness scale, which is near the top. The spay point blade design features a satin finish and a hollow grind. Youโve got two options when it comes to the blade edge: plain edge or Veff Flat Top Serration. Itโs just my opinion, but Iโm typically going to default to a plain edge most of the time. Even when Iโd like to have a serration, Iโd prefer the traditional Veff Serrations over the Flat Top. In its defense, however, the flat top serrations do fit the design of the CRKT Graphite very well.
The handle is constructed from 2Cr13 stainless steel with a G10 overlay. Built into the handle is a liner lock to secure the blade in the deployed position and for one-handed closure. The contours of the handle allow for only a tip-down clip position. The CRKT Graphite currently sells for around $53.22.
