DeWalt 8.0Ah Battery to Highlight Advanced Battery Line for 20V Max Tools
The DeWalt 8.0Ah battery works with the companyโs 20V Max tools and retails for around $229 for a single and $329 for a 2-pack.

Features and Build Quality
At just 2.1 inches tall, the DeWalt 8.0Ah battery is a 2P pack. That means it has 2 rows with 5 cells in each (10 cells total). It uses 21700 cells, allowing it to run hotter and cool more quickly.
To get the most out of this type of battery pack, you need to upgrade the pack construction and enhance the electronic communication. Once you do, product teams can design tools that deliver much greater power or extend runtime with more efficient battery use.

Whatโs interesting is that DeWalt doesnโt seem to be attaching a flashy name to their advanced batteries just yet. Itโs certainly not a requirement, but it is helpful to easily distinguish between advanced and standard batteries from the name.
Weโll have to wait and see if thereโs also a 4.0Ah slim pack on the way. DeWalt already has a 1P 3.0Ah battery to complement its 2P 6.0Ah pack, so thereโs certainly a reasonable expectation that itโs coming.
