Some matches are made in heaven, and when we heard that Robert Bosch Power Tool Corp. and Simpsonย Strong-Tie Co. signed an agreement to jointly pursue sales,ย marketing and product development opportunities in the concreteย construction market โ that got our attention. According to a joint announcement, the two companies are looking to bring to market a completeย Bosch/Simpson Strong-Tie installation system. This will include adhesive andย mechanical anchors, demolition and rotary hammers, and accessories.
Theย new venture will also provide joint jobsite training to installers andย offer distribution partners a variety of sales and marketing benefits,ย giving them access to the broadest commercial and residential productย portfolio in the concrete construction industry.
โThe alliance between our two companies will giveย our distribution partners a better way to compete against directย sellers. Byย combining Boschโs expertise in power tools and accessory systems withย the Simpson Strong-Tie focus on providing specified, value-engineeredย anchoring solutions, we can drive quality business to our partners andย provide customers with even better solutions.โ

It doesnโt take much imagination to see how advantageous these types of alliances can be to both companies, and we have seen several similar situations involving mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures in an effort to expand sales and tackle larger or more broad market segments. We expect to see a pretty successful result with respect to this particular union.
