We have reviewed a number of jump starters over the years, and we love how much more compact lithium models have become. Itโs left us wondering, thoughโฆ whatโs next? The answer may be the Nebo Assist Air 2000XP. Is this combination jump starter and air compressor worth it? Iโll walk you through what it has to offer to help you decide.
Jump Starting with the Nebo Assist Air 2000XP

The first question I have for any jump starter isโฆ how big of an engine can it jump? This model is capable of producing up to 2000 amps, and if that sounds like a lot, it is. With that much jumping power, you can crank up to an 8L gas or 6L diesel engine back to life. Thatโs significantly more capable than many of the bargain basement models you find on Amazon.
The jump starting procedure is simple:
- Connect the cables to the unit
- Connect the red clamp to your batteryโs positive terminal and the black to the negative
- Press the โJump Startโ button on the side
- Wait for the light to be a steady green
- Start your vehicle
There are also reminders on the storage bag, and the display offers help as well. If thereโs any error of any kind, the main screen will show you what itโs detecting. For example, at 40% charge remaining on the unit battery, thereโs not enough juice for a jump start, and that displays on the screen.
One of the cool things is that as soon as you put the clamps on the terminals, the display shows you your batteryโs voltage. Itโs a quick way to see how much juice you have and whether the battery is actually the problem, rather than something like the starter.

The unitโs lithium polymer battery has a capacity of 55.5Wh, which is enough for as many as 45 jumps. Note that the unitโs ability to jump start ends well before its battery gets to 0%, so itโs a good idea to keep it topped off after each use.
Inflating with the Nebo Assist Air 2000XP

The first thing I noticed about the air compressor is how neatly the hose stores against the housing. Pulling it out, I could see a potential problem immediatelyโitโs only about 9 1/2 inches long.
No worries, though. In the bag, youโll find a 24-inch extension to help you reach your tire valve no matter what position itโs in.
The inflation potential of this model is impressiveโup to 150 PSI. Considering the average passenger vehicle tire only needs 35 PSI, you clearly have some additional range to work with. Thatโs good, because Nebo includes several additional accessories to help you inflate a variety of things.
The inflation process is super-easy.
- Connect the air hose to your tire
- Press any of the four buttons around the display to power the unit up
- Press the โUnitโ button to select your preferred pressure measurement
- Press โ+โ or โ-โ to set your target pressure
- Press the โAirโ button to start inflating
The unit will automatically stop once it hits its target. If youโre airing up before a road trip, get it going and go back to loading the car until it stops. Then move to the next tire and keep loading.
One feature I really like is that it saves all your settings. If you filled up to 35 PSI last time, thatโs where it will start when you press the +/- buttons to set your target. It remembers the measurement unit you set as well. Itโs a little thing, but it saves time when youโre airing up and makes the chore a little less frustrating.
Bonus Features of the Nebo Assist Air 2000XP
LED Light

Most lithium inflators include an LED light, and Nebo doesnโt stray from that norm on this model. There are some helpful differences, though. When you press the โLightโ button, you get a broad, clean 200-lumen light thatโs great for helping you see your battery terminals, lighting up a flat tire, rooting around the truck for your spare, or any other close tasks you can think of.
Press it again, and you get a solid red light. This is a little easier on your eyes and also a bit more universally understood by other drivers as a potential hazard.
A third press sticks with red and flashes an โSOSโ pattern so other drivers can see youโre in need of assistance.
Charging and Power Supply

If you have a battery, you might as well be able to use it for charging, right? Thatโs Neboโs attitude, and there are three charging ports on the Assist Air 2000XP:
- 2 x USB-A out (12W max)
- 1 x USB-C in and out (20W max)
There are two things worth pointing out about the USB ports. One, itโs possible to charge three devices all at once. Just remember that as youโre drawing from the battery, youโre also limiting your jump starting and inflation power.
Two, itโs a pass-through system. You can charge the unit via the USB-C port while youโre charging other devices on the USB-A ports. So, if youโre charging the internal battery via your carโs 12V power using the included adapter, you donโt have to unplug your phone or stop it from charging through the other ports.
Storage

The unit by itself is reasonably compact. Itโs similar in shape and a little larger thanโI canโt believe Iโm using this analogyโone of those old VHS tapes. However, youโll need to store it with the accessories so you have everything you need when you need it, so that bulks things up a little.
Itโs possible to fit it in your glove box if you donโt have anything else in there. However, the reality for most of us is that it will best fit under a seat, in your trunk, or in your truck box.
Additional Highlights
- Durable Build: Rugged, dustproof, water-resistant housing design with protective outlet covers
- Integrated Safety: Spark-free jump starting and patented internal safety guards
- Air Travel Ready: The battery is under the 100Wh limit for carry-on luggage

Should You Buy It?
What I love about the Nebo Assist Air 2000XP is that it combines the two most likely roadside assistance devices Iโll need and puts them in a compact package. That alone earns its place in my truck. The bonus lighting and power supply features are icing on the cake.
If you own a vehicle and your engine doesnโt exceed the jump starting capacity, this is a great peace of mind to know you have with you. Yes, itโs more expensive than some models, and it might have more power than your engine needs. However, its versatile capabilities and ability to eliminate having to carry a separate jump starter and inflator in your vehicle are worth it.
That said, there are two other models available. Thereโs an Assist Air 1500XP for vehicles with smaller engines and an Assist Air 2500XP for larger ones. And if you feel like you donโt need the inflator capability, there are Assist 1000XP/2000XP/2500XP models to choose from as well.
