Continuing their expansion of their rotary hammer line, Milwaukee has introduced a new 1-9/16โณ SDS Max Rotary Hammer.ย This new rotary hammer delivers the durability users have come to expect from Milwaukee, with a 10.5-amp motor and 5.5 ft-lbs of impact energy. Weโve picked up and used several of Milwaukeeโs rotary hammers, and they are a force to be reckoned with. The new hammer is an improvement in that it offers new features to increase efficiency and lower the amount of work (effort) you have to expend in order to achieve the results you need.
Milwaukee 5317-21 1-9/16 SDS Max Rotary Hammer Features
The new Milwaukee 5317-21 1-9/16โณ SDS Max Rotary Hammer features 2 modes of operation: rotary hammer and hammer only, so you can both drill and chip as needed, depending upon your application. It also has a mechanical clutch to help protect the tool when the bit binds. The 5317-21 Rotary Hammer also features Constant Power Technology (CPT) to deliver consistent performance during tough applications for Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Technicians, Mechanical, and General Contractors.

The Milwaukee 5317-21 has a maximum rotation of 450RPM and weighs 15 pounds, which is not bad for a 10.5-amp heavy-duty rotary hammer. For maximum drilling power, it operates at up to 3000 bpm (beats per minute) and includes the rotary hammer, removable side handle, and plastic carrying case. You can also get this in the 5316-21 Spline model, so no matter what bits you currently use, youโll be all set.
