Loweโ€™s and Honda Power Equipment have announced that Loweโ€™s will be a new retail partner for Hondaโ€™s line of high-quality outdoor power equipment.

Editorโ€™s Note: Check out our Lowes vs Home Depot article for our take on these two behemoth home improvement stores.

As of now, Honda products are available on Lowes.com, with more to roll into the companyโ€™s brick-and-mortar stores nationwide within the coming weeks. Loweโ€™s will offer a range of Honda OPE, including residential and commercial walk-behind mowers, generators, snowblowers, tillers, pumps, and string trimmers.

โ€œWe are committed to offering a wide selection of brands DIY and Pro customers know and trust, and Honda strengthens our ability to deliver on customer expectations in outdoor power equipment. By providing customers with more high-quality and durable products, we are making it even easier for our customers to complete their next outdoor project.โ€

Bill Boltz, Loweโ€™s executive vice president of merchandising

Hondaโ€™s partnership with Loweโ€™s will bring some of the OPE industryโ€™s most durable and powerful products to the stores, making them more easily available for DIYers and Pros alike.

โ€œThe partnership between Loweโ€™s and Honda will help bring the industryโ€™s best lawn and garden products to even more households nationwide. At Honda, weโ€™re looking forward to a relationship with Loweโ€™s and serving their customers with exceptional products through an exceptional shopping experience.โ€

Will Walton, vice president of Honda Power Equipment

Thoughts on the New Partnership

Honda mowers and generators have a reputation that other brands envy, and their other OPE products are solid as well. Bringing Honda into Loweโ€™s stores makes a lot of sense, especially on the consumer side.

Hondaโ€™s HRR mower was selling some 300,000 units every year before being replaced by the Honda HRN series in late 2019. Thatโ€™s a significant number of sales that Loweโ€™s can expect to draw from.

Theyโ€™re not alone, though; Home Depot also has some Honda models available in its stores and more online.

Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s interesting. In the commercial market, Husqvarna has been a partner with Loweโ€™s on the Pro side of the business. Honda doesnโ€™t currently manufacture ride-on mowers, but weโ€™ll have to wait and see what happens in the walk-behind sector.

The expansion for both Loweโ€™s and Honda is encouraging to see for the OPE market in general. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
