Ford Balances Size and Towing Capacity

With Fordโ€™s 2020 F-600 chassis cab, youโ€™ll not only have the muscle to tow all the tools you need day-in and day out, but youโ€™ll also have it in a truck thatโ€™s small enough to maneuver around any jobsite. The mid-sized Ford F-600 delivers the capacity of a Class 6 truck in a Class 5 Super Duty package.

Power

The Ford F-600 comes with 7.3L OHV PFI Gas V8 engine designed for commercial-like durability, performance, and power. This overhead valve, port fuel-injected, big-block โ€œpushrodโ€ V8 features variable-cam timing to reach peak power with optimal air-fuel ratios in the low rpm range. This provides the responsiveness and power that commercial applications require.

For commercial durability, the 7.3L engine also features a new cast-iron block. It has four-bolt and cross-bolted main bearings and a forged steel crankshaft.

The end result is one of the largest V8s in a conventional chassis cab. The motor cranks out 350 hp and delivers 468 ft-lbs of torque.

Upfitter Switches

The 2020 Ford F-600 Chassis Cab comes with six factory-installed auxiliary upfitter switches. Two 40-amp switches work with the ignition on or off, while four 25-amp switches provide power with the ignition on.

Ford has integrated the switches, with fuses and associated relays, into the overhead console/storage compartment.

Stability

Also included in the SRW Super Duty package is Fordโ€™s AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC) and trailer sway control.

AdvanceTrac and RSC use gyroscopic sensors to apply a combination of reduced engine power and selective wheel braking to help maintain control of the F-600 and the trailer while towing.
