Apex Tool Group’s leading hand tool brand, Crescent Tools, has launched its new Crescent Connect Modular Clamp System. After the Crescent CMTS4 Switchblade Multi-Purpose Cutter, it looks like Apex is on a roll. The major draw of this system is its ability to connect multiple clamps together and rotate them to hold several pieces in place or maintain a grip on a single piece at multiple angles.
Build Quality and Features
The vice-style clamp system offers 500 pounds of clamping force in addition to its flexible positioning. The clamp is designed to deliver this greater force while allowing for better leverage and less strain. An integrated pipe grip ensures that round objects are held securely in place. Removable, oversize rubber pads protect work surfaces from damage and provide extra traction with their non-slip surface.
The Crescent Connect Modular Clamp System is available in 6-inch or 12-inch sets and is sold in packages of two. Prices for the 12-inch set are currently in the $45 range, and it appears that retailers are struggling to keep the connectors and 6-inch models in stock. Though stock varies, Amazon has the 6-inch and 12-inch sets priced around $50 each.
