Itโs not often that consumers think about range hoods, but technology has been advancing in this area and they are getting better at filtration and lighting for kitchen applications. According to Wellnitz, the range hood does more than just provideย ventilation. As youโd expect, Broan has done a bunch of research research to discover what consumersย want from their range hood. It turns out that itโs than just ventilation โ adequate lighting is also a sought after feature. The new Evolution Broanย Series of under-cabinet range hoods uses four halogen lights specially designed to direct light toย the cooking surface (we were surprised they didnโt use LED lighting, but thatโs a different story).ย Additionally, it has an automatic light sensor for nighttime safety โย eliminating potential bumps and bruises when satisfying a midnight snackย craving.
Noise is one of my main pet peeves with range hoods and ventilation systems and Broan touts some of the quietestย operation at normal operating speeds โ calling them virtually silent (Broan claims a 40 percent sound output ย eduction over prior models).
